“Where can I find clients who can pay $350+ an hour?”

“Where can I find clients who can pay $350+ an hour?”

If you're asking this question,

"Where" probably isn't the issue actually because some of the clients you’re already seeing probably do have the money or could come up with it.

(They might even be able to pay MORE).

The bigger challenge here is that you are not BEING the therapist that premium clients want to work with because you are so attached to staying full with anyone who will pay you and it reflects in the way you speak and how you show up.

For example, you say you want a premium fee client but deep down you’re constantly battling with “what if this person won’t pay?”, “what if it’s too expensive?” etc. etc.

So during the fee discussion you might subconsciously feel the need to over-sell, prove yourself to the client or convince them why they should pay you.

Over-selling, proving and convincing transmit desperate energy…

And even if they could afford you, they'll pick up on this desperate energy.

I'll add this here too, that sometimes it’s not even about what you say, it’s about the vibes you give.

Ever been in a situation where you just felt that something was not right? That’s how clients feel when you’re desperate.

Being desperate to the client, feels like…. "pleeeeaaasssse buy this thing because I really need the money!" (even though you're not saying those exact words),

And being confident feels more like "This is my price. It may not be the right price for you, but I'm OK with you not buying."

Feel the difference?

That’s why you can give two therapists a script on a fee conversation and one person would secure the client at $350 an hour, the other at $80.

When people feel a sense of desperation, they may decide they don't want to work with you, but they'll never TELL you that.

It’s human nature to be polite, they won’t say "you're coming across as desperate. I don't want to work with you."

Instead, they’ll praise you, tell you how amazing you are and then tell you -  “I want to think about it!”

When that happens and they don’t buy, the initial underlying thought you had - “what if it’s too expensive” is reinforced,

And your brain is like -”Yup! I told you!…..It’s expensive that’s why EVERYBODY is saying they want to think about it.”

(Notice that I have “everybody” in caps, because when you’re in that space, your brain will amplify the negativity and convince you that EVERYBODY thinks it’s expensive, even though you only spoke to 3 people that week).

And you show up to your next call with even more desperation and frustration so you get another - “I need to think about it” or “it’s too expensive” and the cycle continues.

To get out of this cycle so you can BE the therapist that premium fee clients want to work with, you’ve got to trust that you’ll both be okay no matter the outcome.

It does not mean that you give up on the client,  but it means that you are committed to helping them make the decision that’s best for them, even if it means that they don’t end up working with you.

Being able to make this commitment to your client requires believing that your clients are whole, worthy and complete and whilst you’re the expert at what you do, you don’t know what’s best for them.

They do!

It’s a powerful way of being when you are completely confident in your abliites, because your prospective clients can feel the energy.

It's a clean energy void of neediness or desperation and they know that you are there to help them, not for your own selfish reasons.

You can tell when you are confident because you won’t feel frustrated, drained, exhausted or sad when people tell you that they want to think about it or if they don’t become your client.

Actually, you might even feel a little sympathy for them because you believe in your work so much and you feel that they just lost out on an incredible opportunity to change their lives.

And so you’ll enthusiastically move on to the next sales call excited about the next person whose life you're about to help change!

When you show up this way, dedicated to what is best for both parties, you secure more clients and even when you get rejections, you will remain grounded and not make it mean anything about you or your abilities.

When you are being the woman who is committed to what is best for the client, you won’t need to keep asking the question - “Where can I find clients who are ready to invest in my premium fee?”

Because you will be able to connect with the right clients just because you decided to commit to their best interest and as a result show up differently - powerful and grounded!

If you aren’t this woman yet, I may be able to help.

I have a 3 month (1:1) Money Mindset Mastery program for established Black Women Therapists. The program can also be done as an intensive--VIP Day.

This offer works best for Black Women Therapists who are ready to raise their private practice fees, but know their MONEY MINDSET is the main thing stopping them. You desire to make the leap from 30 clients to only 8 clients per week at $350+ per hour. You’re pretty sure about who you help and what you help them with (niche), and you aren’t debating between a bunch of different things. You’ve been earning $5K to $50K per month, but you’re seeing too many clients and you want to earn more and spend a lot less time doing it.

You have a marketing strategy (example: website) that brings in 80+ referral per year with at least 8 of those clients converting/good fit clients. These clients need to be people who are truly interested in the problem you solve. For example: if you are an EMDR therapist, these clients are interested in EMDR, or if the problem you treat is anxiety–these clients are specifically coming to you to learn to resolve/manage their anxiety.

I work closely with you on the following things:

1)Identifying the blocks, beliefs, emotions, and behaviors that cause you to become nauseous when discussing money. This involves excavating, mending and breaking agreements from your family/ancestral money past.

2) Locating where negative feelings about money land in your physical body. Then reducing overwhelm caused by talking about, managing and handling money.

3) Externalizing the harmful societal, racial, gendered core beliefs you hold about people/you earning and having money.

4) Feeling your vision, that is focusing on which feelings and experiences you want to create rather than just planning for the stuff you want to buy.

5) Creating core business policies that support a private practice that allows you to deliver high quality care to your clients without sacrificing your own financial, mental, emotional health.

In the program you get 1-on-1 calls; weekly assignments delivered via brief (7 to 15 minutes) audio lessons; Fee conversation role-plays; recordings of coaching calls; opportunities for group coaching with like-minded Black Women Therapists; plus I won’t just tell you what to do, I will hold your hand step-by-step through your entire money transformation.

The program price is in the mid-4 figures right now; it's on the lower end of the range, but I will be raising it throughout the year. Payment options are available. If interested, just send me a DM and we will chat to see if you’re a good fit to get results. It would also help me if you would include the following information in your initial DM:

Your expertise

Results you've helped your clients create

Your current fee

Your income goal for the next 12 months

Look forward to hearing from you.

P.s. I'm taking clients now and if you're a good fit we can start this week!
