Gender - Affirming Therapist Letter
This free 15-minute call is a gentle way to explore fit — no commitment, just space to ask questions and see what support feels right.
Queer-affirming, culturally rooted care grounded in medical systems experience.
Seeking gender-affirming medical care often requires documentation that is both psychologically affirming and medically precise. Gender-affirming letters may be requested in connection with a range of medical and surgical procedures, including chest surgery, facial feminization or masculinization procedures, body contouring, and genital surgeries.
I offer a focused evaluation model designed to support access to care while honoring clients’ dignity, autonomy, and lived experience.
Documentation follows professional standards and applicable requirements. Approval and coverage decisions are made by insurers or surgical providers.
My approach is shaped by direct experience working in a medical gender transition clinic within a large healthcare system, where I collaborated closely with surgeons and interdisciplinary teams. In that setting, evaluations were not treated as barriers—but as collaborative tools to help people receive the medical care they needed.
This service is designed for individuals seeking a gender-affirming letter—not ongoing therapy—using a streamlined and respectful process to meet their documentation needs.

A Queer-Affirming, Culturally Rooted Approach
My work is grounded in a collaborative, social-justice-informed framework that honors clients’ autonomy, lived experience, and self-knowledge. Evaluations are conducted with care, nuance, and respect for gender diversity.
My work emphasizes:
• Distinction between gender identity and mental health diagnoses
• Recognizing gender euphoria, alignment, and embodiment—not only distress
• Preparing documentation that accurately reflects clinical findings and supports appropriate access to care
When clients have a history of depression, anxiety, eating disorders, or other mental health diagnoses, I assess how those experiences are currently functioning in relation to the requested care—whether they are well-managed, in remission, or clinically unrelated. When DSM-based language is required, it is used thoughtfully and precisely, without pathologizing.

About My Approach
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with direct experience working in a medical gender transition clinic, where I supported patients alongside surgeons within a large healthcare system.
That experience continues to shape how I approach gender-affirming evaluations today—particularly the importance of clarity, collaboration, and documentation that supports access to care without causing harm.
